Nottingham Spirk has had a long partnership in bringing innovations to market with P&G, such as the Swiffer Sweep+Vac. So, when P&G came up with the concept of cleaning air using advanced Swiffer materials, they naturally approached Nottingham Spirk with the opportunity. Utilizing the Swiffer technology would allow for a low-cost filter with the efficiency of more expensive HEPA filter. Nottingham Spirk agreed to partner with P&G to commercialize and sell the innovation, leveraging our in-house Design, Engineering, Consumer Insights, Branding and sourcing teams to do so.

Utilizing Swiffer technology – commonly associated with floor care – and the Febreze brand, Nottingham Spirk set out to further develop and refine a silent, affordable, and efficient air filter technology. We were given an early prototype of the Febreze Air Duster and were tasked with reducing the costs of the product. This was accomplished by updating the design and making it easier to ship and work with our manufacturing sources to commercialize the final concept. Nottingham Spirk partnered with World and Main, a manufacturer of home fans and various other products, to help distribute and market the final product.
